The outside world is cloaked in a dense, poisonous fog. A mother and her young son seek refuge in the German countryside. Tormented by fear and an injured leg, the young mother doesn’t notice her son’s confusion while the fog finally reaches the village. The frightened child is driven to take a desperate and dangerous step.
